  • Grated cabbage

  • Spring onion rings

  • Butter

  • Black pepper powder

  • Salt

  • Water

Preparation method

  1. Take a pot and add about 4 cups of water into it.

  2. Add some salt to taste and black pepper powder into the pot and set it on the stove at medium flame.

  3. Once the water starts boiling, add about 1 pound of bone-in chicken and stir it for a while.

  4. Now, cover the lid of the stockpot and let the chicken boil for about 10-15 minutes on medium to high flame.

  5. After that, separate the chicken pieces from the stock by draining the stock into another bowl and keep it aside. Shred the chicken from the pieces and remove the bone from them.

  6. Take a pan and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Now, add 3-4 crushed garlic, half a tablespoon of minced ginger, and stir fry for 2 minutes.

  7. Add 1/2 chopped onion and ¼ cup of grated cabbage and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

  8. When the vegetables are half-cooked add the chicken stock into the pan.

  9. At this stage, you can add flavorings like a little bit of black pepper powder, some more salt suitable to your palate.

  10. Cover the lid of the pot and let it cook for 5-6 minutes. Now, add the shredded chicken into the soup.

  11. Serve it hot into a bowl and garnish it with spring onion rings.

Note - You may add other additives to it if you want enhanced flavor like vinegar, sweet corn, and boneless barbeque chicken.
