5 Tips To Make Perfect Fluffy Rice.

Perfect Fluffy Rice

Cooking rice that is fluffy, non-sticky, and delicious shouldn’t be a big deal. But we often end up cooking either crunchy or too mushy rice that can ruin the fun for our favorite Indian main dishes. The rice that can strain through our fingers takes a lot of effort and it takes a while for us to make that perfect pot of fluffy rice.

When you add too much or too little water into the rice, it can result in soggy or stiff rice. But with a few tips that play a scientific role in cooking the rice, you can make it perfect every time. Here are the effective tips to apply for your next cooking session.

Tips for making perfect fluffy rice.

  1. Take a heavy bottom pot to cook rice perfectly, it prevents rice from sticking at the bottom surface and burn.

  1. The quantity of the water is very important. Use about 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. If you’ve soaked the rice for about ½ an hour, reduce the water quantity to 1 ½ cup.

Note - Note if you’ve put too much water to cook rice, don’t panic as you can drain out the excess water halfway through the process.

  1. Add some salt and 2 tablespoons of oil to the water. When you add the rice, the salt ensures the rice has an even flavor and the oil prevents grains from sticking due to starchiness.

  1. Let the water come to a vigorous boiling point and then add the rice. Give it a stir only once so the rice grains don’t get sticky and release extra starch.

  1. When the rice starts boiling and you see the bubble on the surface, cover the lid and let it cook on low without stirring it. Make sure you don’t uncover it after turning off the flame, give it 7-10 minutes to absorb the moisture.

So, now you can apply the above instructions in your kitchen no matter which type of rice you’re cooking. Adjust the water quantity, which might be more or less, depending on the type of rice you cook but the rest is good.

Hope these tips will help you in cooking the fluffy rice. But we’re always ready if you want to feast on some restaurant-style Indian food.
